Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine is the instrumental project of Klek and Khn de Poitrine, a Quebec duo formed in 2023. Their music sits between experimental rock, math rock and an angular post‑punk pulse, built with a taste for repetition that nods to techno’s construction methods. Tracks evolve through the accumulation and subtraction of short motifs: a dry, precise drum sound sets the frame, while microtonal guitar and bass lines weave around chromatic phrases that create discreet tension inside often asymmetrical structures.

No vocals here; the duo pushes movement, variation and rhythmic displacement to the front, keeping the music tight, jolting and quietly danceable. Their first release, Vol. 1 (2024), sketched out this approach and quickly took them across Quebec stages, including a stop at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Live, the pieces shift and breathe, locking into grooves that tilt and reconfigure rather than explode.

Angine de Poitrine play Troxy in London on 20 October 2026, bringing a set where rock energy meets a lean, evolving sense of repetition.
