On July 9, 2027, Fontaines D.C. take over London Stadium with the kind of live set that’s built on pressure, rhythm, and words that cut through the noise. Coming out of Dublin’s student and poetry scene, the band have always treated lyrics like a front-line instrument, riding tense basslines and abrasive guitars without losing that dry, narrative edge. From the urgent snap of their early material to the broader, darker tones they’ve explored across later records, their shows move fast, then suddenly pull back into more spacious, contemplative passages. Expect a performance that plays on contrast: tight post-punk momentum, shoegaze-leaning texture, and big choruses that never feel like a compromise.
Little Simz brings a different kind of intensity to the night, mixing UK rap with soul, jazz and grime touches, all carried by sharp, story-first writing. Live, she shifts between stripped-back focus and fuller, more expansive arrangements, letting personal detail and social commentary land without over-explaining.
Viagra Boys round out the bill with their Stockholm-bred post-punk grit: repetitive grooves, a saxophone that’s always up front, and Sebastian Murphy’s half-spoken delivery, equal parts deadpan and wired. A set made for sweaty momentum, with just enough weirdness to keep it unpredictable.
