Info
Billy Ocean bringt his blend of R&B, soul and pop with Caribbean inflections back to the stage. Born in Trinidad and raised in East London, he came up on the late-60s London scene before breaking through with Love Really Hurts Without You and Red Light Spells Danger. The mid-80s refined his sound on Suddenly, Love Zone and Tear Down These Walls, with a supple, warm voice driving Caribbean Queen and a run of chart-ready hooks. Still active on record into the 2010s and 2020s (Because I Love You, Here You Are, One World), he draws on a catalogue built on groove, melody and clean-cut arrangements.
On 14 September 2026 at Waterfront Hall, Belfast, he lines up a set that moves from the early hits to the sleek 80s singles, with space for later cuts and slow-burning soul ballads. Ocean has a way of stretching a groove without losing the song, shifting from laid-back sway to dance-floor pulse, while the band keeps it tight and unfussy. It’s a chance to hear a songwriter revisit the tracks that marked each step of his path, delivered with the ease of someone who knows exactly where the feeling lives.
