Shed Seven land at Rock City, Nottingham on 12 November 2026. Formed in York in 1990, the band made its mark on the 90s britpop and indie rock wave with melodic guitars, direct choruses and an upfront live presence. Led by singer Rick Witter with Tom Gladwin on bass, and across the years guitarists Joe Johnson and Paul Banks, they first cut their teeth on the UK live circuit before releasing Change Giver, A Maximum High and Let It Ride, albums that defined their decade. After reforming in 2007, Shed Seven returned to the studio for Instant Pleasures and, in 2024, A Matter of Time, followed by Liquid Gold, a set of reworks. On stage today, they weave recent material with the songs from their 90s run.
Also on the bill, The Academic bring sharp, melodic indie rock from Mullingar, Ireland. The quartet of Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin and brothers Matthew and Stephen Murtagh broke through with debut Tales From The Backseat in 2018, then pushed on with 2023’s Sitting Pretty. Their songwriting blends bright hooks and tight rhythms, with nods to the Kinks and Talking Heads.
