Info
On 10 June 2026 at 3Olympia Theatre, Dublin, Mary Black brings the Slan Tour, a journey through the songs that shaped her from early days in Dublin clubs to a wide-ranging solo path. Raised in a family steeped in Irish traditional music, she first stepped out with the folk group General Humbert before launching her solo debut in 1982. The show leans into her Celtic folk roots while opening onto a more contemporary blend of folk, country and acoustic pop, a direction honed alongside guitarist and producer Declan Sinnott.
The set traces her catalogue across decades: early material and echoes of her time with De Dannan, then albums from the late 80s and early 90s like Without the Fanfare, No Frontiers, Babes in the Wood and The Holy Ground, followed by later releases including Circus, Shine, Speaking with the Angel, Full Tide and Stories from the Steeples. Pieces from collective projects such as A Woman’s Heart also find their place. Clear phrasing, attention to storytelling and a close-knit band frame the evening, with space for quiet ballads and understated mid-tempo tracks that keep the focus on the song.
