Info
Mary Black brings the Slán Tour to Dublin on 30 May 2026 at 3Olympia Theatre. Raised in a musical Dublin family and first heard in city clubs with her brothers, she took her first professional steps in the mid-70s with folk group General Humbert before releasing her solo debut in 1982. Rooted in Irish ballad tradition, her voice has carried songs that move between contemporary folk, country shades and acoustic pop, a direction she developed alongside longtime collaborator Declan Sinnott. She also joined De Dannan, taking the repertoire across Europe and the US and deepening her place in the Irish folk scene.
Her discography traces that journey, from early collections to Without the Fanfare, By the Time It Gets Dark and No Frontiers, then Babes in the Wood and The Holy Ground, through Circus, Shine, Speaking with the Angel, Full Tide and Stories from the Steeples. Along the way she has taken part in collective projects such as A Woman’s Heart and shared songs with artists including Joan Baez. The Slán Tour draws on these chapters for a set that connects her roots with the sound she has shaped over the years, back home in Dublin.
