Ruel

On 13 October 2026 Ruel will appear at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The British-Australian singer-songwriter, born in London and raised in Sydney, delivers pop with soul and R&B accents, carried by a distinctive voice and clear melodies. Live he pairs slower ballads with midtempo tracks, placing the voice at the center and relying on a band that carefully redraws the contours of the studio productions. The set leans on his debut album 4th Wall (2023) and also draws from the EPs Ready, Free Time and Bright Lights, Red Eyes.

Ruel writes direct hooks and introspective lyrics; on stage those songs are given extra room through dynamics and timing. The route he took via producer M-Phazes and collaborations with artists such as Hilltop Hoods can be heard in touches of hip-hop and electronica, without the melodic core being lost. At the Melkweg he consolidates those phases into a compact show where alt-pop, soul and R&B blend into one another, with attention to vocal delivery, melody and the small phrasings that shape his songs.
