ROLE MODEL, the project of Tucker Pillsbury, brings his alt-pop to AFAS Live in Amsterdam on March 14, 2027. What started as a rap edge has, since 2017, evolved into a more intimate, vocal-driven style in which melody and lyrics take the foreground. In his songs you hear indie pop with a bedroom-pop vibe: compact arrangements, smooth hooks, and lines that sit close to the skin, about relationships, loneliness, and mental health.
After EPs like Oh, How Perfect and Our Little Angel, his debut album Rx (2022) showed how that confessional tone can sound bigger without losing its directness. With Kansas Anymore (2024) he leans toward more acoustic pop, with folk- and subtly country-toned hues. Live that translates into a set that shifts between intimate and open, with room for silence, tension, and refrains that you can’t help but hum along to.
