On May 30, 2026, River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch hosts a double bill of Canadian rock with Aldo Nova and Prism.
Aldo Nova, the Montreal guitarist and songwriter, first made waves with his 1982 debut and the single Fantasy, a mix of sharp guitar riffs, prominent synths and big, chantable refrains. He pushed into more conceptual terrain with Subject...Aldo Nova (1983), leaned further into pop-rock textures on Twitch (1985), then resurfaced in 1991 with Blood on the Bricks, co-written and produced with Jon Bon Jovi. Nova’s Dream (1997) opened a more atmospheric chapter, while Aldo Nova 2.0 (2018) revisited key tracks from his catalog. With The Life and Times of Eddie Gage (2022), he returned to narrative rock, crossing hard rock punch with layered arrangements.
Formed in Vancouver in 1977, Prism blends melodic rock, hard rock and a touch of prog carried by keyboards and clean guitar lines. Early records like Prism and See Forever Eyes set the tone for their accessible FM sound, followed by the tougher edges of Armageddon and Young and Restless. Rebuilt in the 1990s around Al Harlow, the band continued with Jericho and later Big Black Sky, and now draws on a catalog shaped for live rooms: crisp hooks, driving rhythms and choruses built to be sung back.
