Birds on a Wire

Info

Birds on a Wire, the duo formed by Rosemary Standley (Moriarty) and cellist–singer Dom La Nena, will perform on 16 April 2026 at the Théâtre Antoine Watteau in Nogent‑sur‑Marne. With two voices and a single cello, they cultivate the art of the cover and of reinterpretation in stripped‑down versions that move across languages, eras and repertoires: from baroque to pop, from Stefano Landi to The Cure, from Barbara to Bronski Beat, without overlooking French chanson and Anglophone traditions. On stage, acoustic arrangements, countermelodies and silences leave room for the texts and for the breathing of the performance, in a format that sits between song and chamber music. The duo draws on its albums Ramages (2020) and Nuées Ardentes (2025), the latter focused on adolescence and recorded with the Maîtrise de Radio France, to weave a restrained and precise programme, alternating familiar covers and discoveries. Here, the conversation between voices and cello is the guiding thread, shaping a set that remains close to the heart of the songs.
