Chicago bring their horn-powered rock legacy to Ottawa on June 27, 2026 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa. Formed in 1967 around Walter Parazaider, Terry Kath, Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow, Danny Seraphine and later Peter Cetera, the band fused rock with jazz, R&B and pop from the start. The early numbered albums defined a jazz‑rock approach with extended suites and brass at the core, before the late 70s loss of Kath led to a new chapter. In the 80s, working with producer David Foster, Chicago shifted toward a pop and ballad direction on Chicago 16 and Chicago 17. Lineups evolved, with Jason Scheff and others carrying the torch, while the group kept exploring: big‑band detours on Night & Day: Big Band in 1995, a run of live recordings, seasonal projects, and the studio album Born for This Moment in 2022. Their signature remains the conversation between voices, keyboards, guitar and horns, a sound recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
