Billy Cobham

On 22 November 2026 at the Trianon (Paris), Billy Cobham presents Time Machine, a septet conceived to showcase his jazz-rock fusion. The Panamanian-American drummer, who contributed to Miles Davis’s electric sessions — as heard on Bitches Brew — and was a key figure in the Mahavishnu Orchestra alongside John McLaughlin, has developed a precise musical language that alternates power and restraint. His influence has also reached electronic music and hip‑hop: “Stratus” was sampled by Massive Attack for “Safe from Harm.”

On stage, Time Machine brings together a rhythm section and a brass trio. Billy Cobham is on drums, with Gary Husband on keyboards, Rocco Zifarelli on guitar and Victor Cisternas on bass. The brass section features Antonio Baldino on trumpet, Bjorn Arko on saxophone and Andrea Andreoli on trombone. This lineup opens up space for rhythmic motifs, the dense harmonies of the keyboards and the dialogues of the brass, offering a journey through his fusion universe that spans iconic repertoire and new impulses.
