The Like A Rollin Thunder Tour stops in Calgary on February 27, 2026 at Grey Eagle, bringing together Live, Big Wreck and Econoline Crush for a night rooted in guitar-driven alternative rock.
Live formed in Pennsylvania around singer-guitarist Ed Kowalczyk, shaping a sound that blends post-grunge energy, direct melodies and lyrics with a spiritual tint. From Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper through Secret Samadhi and The Distance to Here, the band built a catalog of songs with strong refrains. After a period apart, Kowalczyk returned to front the group and the setlists now span across decades.
Led by Canadian singer-guitarist Ian Thornley, Big Wreck came up in the mid-90s with hefty riffs and a taste for progressive turns. In Loving Memory Of… and The Pleasure and the Greed set the tone, then the relaunch delivered Albatross, Ghosts and Grace Street, followed by …But For the Sun and a run of numbered EPs that refine their textured, melodic approach.
From Vancouver, Econoline Crush mixes industrial edges with alternative rock instincts. Early releases like Affliction and The Devil You Know paved the way to Brand New History and Ignite, then a return with When the Devil Drives in 2023, balancing saturated guitars, electronic textures and hook-friendly choruses.
