Info
Originating from the punk movement, Les Négresses Vertes became one of the representatives of French music abroad. Audiences identify with the spirit of their songs and the energy of their concerts. Formed in Paris in 1987, the independent acoustic rock group owes as much to the tradition of chanson réaliste as to Mediterranean music. The group crossed borders with its first album, "Mlah," in 1988 and broke into the UK charts with its remixes as early as 1989. Three albums followed: "Famille nombreuse" in 1991, "Zigzague" in 1995 and "Trabendo" in 1999. The band toured internationally until 2001.
The reformation of Les Négresses Vertes in 2018 was followed by a 350-date tour that ran through December 2024. The tour resumes in 2026. Les Négresses Vertes will perform on 5 March 2026 at the Centre André Malraux, Hazebrouck.
