Info
A leading figure in contemporary Celtic music, Alan Stivell returns with LIBERTE, a tour marking his 60 years on stage. Singer, harpist and composer, he restored the Celtic harp to the heart of Breton sound and opened it to folk, rock and electronic influences, without abandoning the language and traditional melodies he inherited. On stage he alternates instrumental pieces with songs in Breton or French, weaving soundscapes where tradition engages with the present. Revisited repertoire, foundational themes and new compositions intersect in precise arrangements, driven by his harp and a careful attention to textures and rhythms.
From the poetry of the gwerz to the momentum of the dances, the journey of a musician who has never ceased to explore is told live, in a format tailored for the stage. On 20 May 2026 at the Cité des Congrès in Nantes, Alan Stivell presents a passage through his world—between living memory and recent creations—to gauge the scope of a musical adventure that continues to reinvent itself.
