On April 29, 2026, at L'Entrepôt Le Haillan, Ballaké Sissoko and Piers Faccini reunite on stage for an intimate dialogue between kora and folk. Friends for twenty years, the Malian kora master and the British songwriter share a lively curiosity about traditions and the art of listening. After a few scattered collaborations, they take a step forward with a co-written album, which they present here as a duo. Sissoko unfolds a patient, precise playing style, rooted in the Mande repertoire, that lets each motif breathe. Faccini weaves his melodies and words, guitar and voice leading the way, grounded in a folk with clear lines. Together they favor space, simplicity, and the dynamic of give-and-take, creating pieces that cross borders without overstating the point. The concert is constructed like a conversation, where the discreet pulse and blended colors carry the essential.
