IMANU

Born in Saint-Denis de La Réunion and based in Rotterdam, Jonathan Immanuel Kievit initially develops his work under the name Signal before adopting the alias IMANU from 2019. His career anchors in the Dutch drum and bass scene, with early support from Noisia via Invisible Recordings while he was still a teenager. Under the name IMANU, he quickly broadens his spectrum toward electronic music that blends drum and bass, breaks, bass music, techno, house and touches of footwork, with a dense, mobile and highly structured writing. Co-founder of the label DIVIDID in 2018 with Abis and Lars Dingeman, IMANU belongs to a generation of producers who move between club formats, frontal listening and vocal collaborations. His discography under this name has been built through several EPs and singles such as EGO EP (2019), Memento EP (2020) or A Taste of Hope (2021), ahead of the album Unfold (2022), followed by Unfold Remixes (2023). IMANU has also released on labels such as Deadbeats, Vision Recordings and UKF, while collaborating with artists such as Noisia, What So Not or KUČKA. In his sets as in his productions, IMANU favors changing forms, broken rhythms and a constant tension between the precision of sound design and melodic openness.
