Aborym

Born in Taranto, in Apulia, at the beginning of the 1990s, Aborym built itself around Malfeitor Fabban with a black metal approach quickly opened to industrial textures, electronic programming and an aesthetic colder, more mechanical and dissonant than that of the classical extreme scene. After demos in the mid-1990s, Aborym released Kali Yuga Bizarre in 1999, then Fire Walk with Us! in 2001 and With No Human Intervention in 2003, three records that establish this blend of black metal riffs, industrial pulsations and experimental atmospheres. The band's history also includes several lineup changes, notably the participation of Attila Csihar at the turn of the 2000s, then Prime Evil and drummer Faust, in a trajectory marked by links with European black metal and industrial scenes. With Generator in 2006, Psychogrotesque in 2010, Dirty in 2013, Shifting.negative in 2017 and Hostile in 2021, Aborym evolves its language toward a more hybrid form where electronic abrasion, martial rhythms, structures sometimes close to avant-garde metal and more atmospheric passages intersect. Remaining active on stage more intermittently, Aborym continues to articulate a singular identity within Italian extreme metal, today carried by Fabban alongside musicians like Gianluca Catalani and Tomas Aurizzi.
