Airbag
Born in Don Torcuato, Greater Buenos Aires, Airbag has, since the late 1990s, been formed by the brothers Patricio, Gastón and Guido Sardelli. They originally performed as Los Nietos de Chuck, playing covers of Chuck Berry, the Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival before developing an original repertoire. Airbag established itself in the mid-2000s with a first phase marked by pop rock, pop punk and alternative rock, documented on the albums Airbag (2004), Blanco y negro (2006) and Una hora a Tokyo (2008). Over the years the band’s writing moved toward a denser sound in which hard rock, blues rock and power ballads took on greater prominence, notably on Vorágine (2011), Libertad (2013), Mentira la verdad (2016), Al parecer todo ha sido una trampa (2021) and El club de la pelea I (2025). The trio’s dynamic also changed when Guido Sardelli moved from drums to guitar and vocals, alongside Patricio Sardelli as lead singer and guitarist and Gastón Sardelli on bass. Rooted in the Argentine rock scene, Airbag has toured Latin America and Spain, played the country’s major festivals and shared the bill with acts such as Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi and Muse.
