LOUTA
Under the name LOUTA, Jaime Martín James, an Argentine songwriter, producer, DJ and actor born in 1994, develops a project where alternative pop intersects with electronic music, hip-hop, songcraft and a stage approach rooted in dance and theatre. The son of dancer Ana Frenkel and Diqui James, founder of De La Guarda and later Fuerza Bruta, Louta from the outset built a musical format conceived with the body, the image and movement. His first album, Louta, was released in 2016 and established him on the Argentine independent scene, followed by Enchastre in 2018, a denser, more fragmented record featuring contributions from Marilina Bertoldi and Zoe Gotusso. In 2019 Louta recorded a session with Bizarrap, and in 2020 he released 2030, co-produced with Eduardo Cabra, Nico Cotton and Alizzz, where electronic rhythms and off-kilter structures take on greater prominence. His career has also extended to film with a role in J. A. Bayona’s Le Cercle des neiges, released in 2023.
