ABHIR
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1996, Abhir, also credited as Abhir Hathi, develops melodic rap that crosses trap, R&B, and urban pop, with writing centered on identity, personal trajectories and an imagination nourished by his indo-canarian origins. Initially active in the group La Hacienda Atlántica, Abhir then begins a solo career that gains attention on the Spanish scene with tracks like BLU with Cruz Cafuné and Jonathan Viera, before releasing the EP Marea Baja in 2019. His debut album, Lazos y Nudos, comes out in 2021 and establishes a broader format, between introspective tracks, sung choruses and flexible rap, in a register that blends subdued gravitas with a knack for phrasing. In 2023, Abhir continues this line with Brown Boy, an album where he widens his sonic spectrum even further, between trap textures, more danceable rhythms, and explicit references to his family and cultural heritage. Across his releases, Abhir is part of a network of artists connected to the Canary Islands' urban scenes and the mainland, with occasional collaborations like Cruz Cafuné, Recycled J, Delaossa, Quevedo, or Juicy Bae, without losing a personal approach, carried by a calm voice, precise phrasing, and an aesthetic that ties Las Palmas to broader influences.
