The OBGMs

Formed in Toronto, Canada, the punk trio The OBGMs—short for The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores—has been developing since the early 2010s a direct, confrontational rock that crosses punk, garage, indie rock and deliberate traces of hip‑hop culture. Led by singer‑guitarist Densil McFarlane, with Colanthony Humphrey on drums and Joseph Brosnan on bass, The OBGMs first made their mark on Toronto’s local scene before embarking on numerous North American tours and appearing on international stages, notably at SXSW in 2015. The band released a self‑titled debut, The OBGMs, in 2017, characterized by short tracks, a dry sound and structures close to classic punk, and refined their identity with The Ends in 2020, where the songs gain in tension, heavier riffs and more pronounced rhythmic passages. In the band’s aesthetic, abrasive guitars and shouted choruses coexist with a vocal delivery that sometimes borrows from rap conventions, placing The OBGMs at the junction of the contemporary punk scene, indie rock and more urban references, while remaining rooted in the raw energy of live performance.
