3BallMTY

Launched in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2009, 3BallMTY initially established themselves as a trio of DJ-producers before continuing as a duo with Sergio Zavala and Alberto Presenda after Erick Rincón left in 2016. 3BallMTY is associated with the tribal guarachero style, at the intersection of electronic music, Latin house and Mexican popular rhythms, with a sound built on club structures, dry basslines and choruses often drawn from Latin pop or regional Mexican music. The project emerged in the early 2010s with “Inténtalo,” followed by the album Inténtalo in 2011, which spread 3BallMTY well beyond the local scene. The collective then undertook tours and international appearances while collaborating with artists such as América Sierra, El Bebeto, Becky G and Gerardo Ortiz. Globall was released in 2014 and extended this move toward a more pop-oriented Latin dance sound, while Somos appeared in 2020. 3BallMTY has also appeared at festivals like SXSW and won the 2012 Latin Grammy for Best New Artist, a notable milestone in their career.
