Emerging from the Australian underground, DJ Life has developed an electronic repertoire that fits the renewed interest in progressive house and tech house, marked by a taste for dreamlike pads, deep basses and deliberately off-kilter rhythms. DJ Life initially circulated within the club networks tied to this new progressive wave before expanding his field of activity to a more international scene between Australia, Japan, China and, more recently, Europe, where he is now based. His releases on 9Finity, X-Kalay and Small Hours reveal a writing in motion—both geared toward the dancefloor and sensitive to shifts in atmosphere—with tracks that move by slippages, subtle tensions and psychedelic details. In his selections as in his releases, DJ Life favors flexible, groovy and sinuous formats, far from a frontal techno approach, which has led him to play contexts like Dimensions Festival in Croatia or Sonder Music & Arts Festival in Melbourne, while remaining connected to a circuit of specialist clubs and scenes.
