Artikal Sound System

Formed in 2012 in South Florida, Artikal Sound System brings together singer Logan Rex, bassist Christopher Montague, guitarist Jontron, drummer Adam Kampf and keyboardist Matt Sarti around a reggae-rock sound tinted with dub, soul and R&B. The band built on the local scene before widening its audience through tours and American festivals, with a collective format centered on the contrast between a flexible rhythm section, melodic guitars and Logan Rex's clear voice. Artikal Sound System develops an accessible sound yet rooted in the modern reggae tradition, adding pop choruses, atmospheric textures and inflections from rhythm and blues. After several singles and EPs over the 2010s, the group released the album Welcome to Florida in 2022, which synthesizes this identity between sunny groove, contemporary production and direct songwriting. Artikal Sound System thus circulates between reggae, alternative, and indie pop scenes, in a band format where live energy remains a central element of its journey.
