Bumpin Uglies

Formed in Annapolis, Maryland, Bumpin Uglies has since 2008 developed a blend of reggae rock, ska and punk driven by Brandon Hardesty's songwriting. The band first built itself on the local and regional scene of the American East Coast before expanding its activity through regular tours and a frequent presence in reggae, punk and festival circuits. Their discography quickly expanded with Free Candy in 2011, Go Folk Yourself in 2012 and Ninjah: Reggae Assassins in 2013, followed by Keep It Together in 2016, Beast From The East in 2018, Keep Your Suitcase Packed in 2020, Mid-Atlantic Dub in 2022 and Lyrics Over Everything in 2024. Bumpin Uglies also alternates studio, live and acoustic formats, notably Load In/Load Out: Live at 8x10 in 2014, Songs From the Basement in 2017 and Live @ Sugarshack Sessions in 2019, as well as several EPs. The sound of Bumpin Uglies rests on flexible reggae rhythms, ska accelerations, punk-tinged nervousness and melodic choruses, with a clear emphasis on the lyrics. Over the years, the band has evolved its lineup around Hardesty and has multiplied exchanges with artists from the American reggae rock scene, while maintaining a distinctly Mid-Atlantic identity.
