E L U C I D

Born in Jamaica, in the Queens borough of New York, and after a spell in Deer Park before settling in East New York, Brooklyn, E L U C I D has been developing since the early 2000s a rap rooted in East Coast hip-hop, marked by dense writing, a deep delivery and productions that are often spare or rough. As a rapper and producer, E L U C I D pursues both a solo and a collective path, notably as part of Armand Hammer, but also in groups such as Cult Favorite, Lessondary, Nostrum Grocers and Small Bills, placing his work within an independent New York scene open to less conventional forms of rap. After several mixtapes released between 2002 and the early 2010s, he issued his first solo album, Save Yourself, in 2016, then the mixtape Valley of Grace in 2017. These were followed by the album Nostrum Grocers with Milo in 2018, Don't Play It Straight with The Lasso under the name Small Bills in 2020, I Told Bessie in 2022, and then Revelator and Interference Pattern in 2024. In 2026 E L U C I D continued this trajectory with I Guess U Had to Be There, made with Swiss producer Sebb Bash.
