Effin

Based in Nashville, Effin develops an approach to electronic music centered on bass music, with a marked taste for sampling and textures inspired by retro aesthetics. The Effin project has been built around a sound that combines heavy bass, nervous rhythms and more sensitive melodies, in a format designed as much for listening as for the stage. This work on the contrast between contemporary energy and vintage references runs through part of its musical identity and places Effin at the crossroads of dubstep, modern bass music and a more narrative strand of electronic music. A clear milestone in its trajectory is Cheap Thrills, the first album released in 2023, where Effin gathers this sonic palette into a long-format record, with tracks that highlight production precision, the use of sampling and a fairly direct sense of sonic depth.
