Choir! Choir! Choir!

Founded in Toronto in the early 2010s by Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman, Choir! Choir! Choir! operates as a participatory choir that reinterprets pop, rock and folk repertoire by bringing amateur singers together around collective arrangements. The project initially developed in the city’s bars and cultural venues before expanding to stages in North America and Europe, hosting evenings where the audience learns the harmonies on the spot and performs the songs with the founding duo. Choir! Choir! Choir! focuses on covers of widely known songs — from Leonard Cohen to Prince — favouring dense vocal versions supported by stage direction that alternates humor, precise instructions and an emphasis on collective singing. The group has notably distributed its performances as videos and live recordings, including several digital singles over the years, without building a conventional studio-album discography. Choir! Choir! Choir! therefore sits at the intersection of choral pop, participatory performance and community music, working on the social dimension of singing while remaining anchored in an anglophone popular-music repertoire.
