Of Virtue

Formed in 2008 in Lansing, Michigan, Of Virtue develops an American metalcore that combines dense guitars, driving rhythms and an alternation between clean vocals and rougher voices, with a sensitive alternative metal side in the choruses and melodic constructions. The band first released the EP To Breathe Again in 2009, then the albums Heartsounds in 2011 and Salvation in 2015. After several lineup changes, Of Virtue entered a new phase with the arrival of singer Tyler Ennis in 2017, alongside founding members Damon Tate and Michael Valadez, and tightened its songwriting on What Defines You (2019), released on SharpTone Records. Having since signed to Arising Empire, Of Virtue continued this trajectory with the EP Sinner in 2022 and Omen in 2023, where the band asserts a more direct formula, blending metalcore tension, melodic choruses and a modern approach to American metal. The quartet, completed by drummer Ryan Trinh, operates within an aesthetic that is both aggressive and accessible, built around a balance between rhythmic impact and clarity of vocal lines.
