Twin Temple

Based in Los Angeles, Twin Temple gathers Alexandra James and Zachary James around a repertoire that twists the codes of doo-wop, rock’n’roll and American vocal pop of the 1950s and 1960s by integrating an openly Satanic imagery. The duo emerges under this name in 2017, after having already played in other formations related to each of its members, then releases the album Twin Temple (Bring You Their Signature Sound... Satanic Doo-Wop) in 2019. Their approach rests on retro harmonies, a sober guitar, choirs inspired by the girl group sound, and writing that blends romance, sexuality, religious satire and themes related to individual autonomy. Twin Temple quickly builds visibility on stage, notably as the opening act for Ghost as early as 2019, then on several tours in North America and Europe in 2022, before headlining their own shows and sharing the bill with Danzig in 2023. In their discography, Stripped from the Crypt: Twin Temple present a Collection of Live (And Undead) Recordings from Their Satanic Ritual Chamber... appears in 2020, followed by the EP Twin Temple Summon the Sacred Whore... Babalon in 2021, then God Is Dead in 2023. Twin Temple has since maintained a deliberately dated aesthetic, between dark ballads, rhythms of rhythm and blues and ceremonial staging.
