Red Sun Atacama

Formed in Paris in 2014, Red Sun Atacama develops a heavy rock that blends desert rock, psychedelia and punk tension, within an aesthetic inspired by the mineral and volcanic imagery of the Atacama Desert. The trio first released the EP Part 1 in 2015, then refined that language on Licancabur, released in 2018 on More Fuzz Records, with direct, abrasive tracks threaded with repetitive motifs. Red Sun Atacama places its music between stoner and garage registers, driven by dry rhythms, saturated guitars and a compact stage energy. The band has played various stages in France and across Europe, notably sharing bills with Mars Red Sky, Slift and Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats. In 2022, Red Sun Atacama released DARWIN on the Mrs Red Sound label, a second album recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé that extends their approach by accentuating the relationship between psych‑rock, punk nervousness and desert atmospheres.
