Fangus

Formed in Quebec in 2022, Fangus develops heavy rock nourished by references to the 1970s, between proto-metal, hard prog and long psychedelic excursions. The band sits in a vein where massive riffs cross paths with more fluid structures, with a marked taste for dark atmospheres, ritual motifs and imagery inspired by ancient myths and hallucinatory visions. This aesthetic appears from its early recordings, which establish a dense and organic sound without seeking a smoothing effect. According to information available on its official pages and discography profiles, Fangus releases its first EP at the beginning of its trajectory, before continuing with Emerald Dream in 2026. This record extends the foundations laid by the band while broadening the format, with more expansive compositions and an approach that leaves more room for instrumental developments. Fangus thus evolves in a register where doom rock, heavy psychedelia and certain progressive inflections meet, in a continuity embraced with a portion of North American underground rock.
