Desiree

Originally from the South African scene, Desiree has over the years established herself as a DJ and producer whose sets move between house, afro-influenced grooves and broader textures from contemporary electronic scenes — favoring a flexible selection approach rather than a strict focus on a single subgenre. Desiree expanded her international profile through appearances on BBC Radio 1 (including an Essential Mix), Boiler Room and Rinse FM, and by performing on stages and in clubs such as Panorama Bar, DC-10, fabric, Hï Ibiza, Glastonbury and Coachella. Her career also includes a commitment to visibility and representation for women and queer communities within house music, which she publicly embodies as an intersex woman. Alongside touring she develops MMINO, a project conceived as both a party space and a musical platform. On the production side, Desiree released the EP Intersexy in 2025, featuring the title track and “Khuluma Nami” in collaboration with Jabulile Majola, as well as several remixes, including reinterpretations of Nina Simone’s “Four Women”, Disclosure and Pa Salieu’s “King Steps”, Keinemusik’s “Pussy Power” with Nomi Ruiz, LP Giobbi’s “All I Need” and SalAelo Selota’s “Thrrr... Phaaa!”.
