Jarreau Vandal

Under the name Jarreau Vandal, Ellroy Jarreau Uyleman has been building a trajectory from Amsterdam that links Dutch club culture, electronic production and songwriting closer to R&B and soul. Raised in a family steeped in jazz, funk and soul, he began producing as a teenager and first made his mark on the local scene before gaining recognition beyond the Netherlands in the mid-2010s. His work, associated since 2014 with the Californian collective Soulection, blends house, hip‑hop, R&B, funk, soul and jazz-tinged elements in a flexible format often informed by South African and Moroccan rhythms. He released The Jarreau Vandal White Label in 2014, the mixtape Anthology in 2018 and the project Suburb Superhero: The Villain Within in 2020. Alongside original tracks, Jarreau Vandal also circulates through remixes and live formats where he combines singing, production and stage performance, sometimes accompanied by instrumentalists. His presence has been forged between clubs and festivals, with appearances at ADE, ESNS, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Boiler Room and NTS, in an aesthetic focused on the intersection of rhythms and scenes.
