ZSK

Born in Göttingen in 1997 before settling in Berlin, ZSK operates in a range that mixes skate punk, punk rock, melodic hardcore and hardcore punk. Their lyrics, mostly in German and sometimes in English, focus on antifascism, police violence, social inequality and political engagement. ZSK first made a name for themselves in alternative youth centers, squats and skateboarding events, then quickly broadened their audience across the German and European punk scenes. After an initial run marked by Riot Radio (2002), From Protest to Resistance (2004) and Discontent Hearts and Gasoline (2006), the band split in 2007 and resumed activity in 2011 with drummer Matthias. This second phase produced Herz für die Sache (2013), Hallo Hoffnung (2018), Ende der Welt (2021) and HassLiebe (2023). Over the years ZSK has shared stages with bands like Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Die Toten Hosen and Donots, while remaining tied to the punk, hardcore and activist scenes. Their story is also linked to the initiative Kein Bock auf Nazis, launched in the mid-2000s with an explicitly antifascist stance.
