Wormhole

Anchored in Baltimore's technical death metal scene in the United States, Wormhole develops a project oriented toward brutal death and slam, characterized by complex structures and science‑fiction imagery. Formed in the mid‑2010s, the band gradually established itself in a niche often labeled tech‑slam, blending very fast riffs, heavy breakdowns and deep guttural vocals with more atmospheric passages that emphasize the futuristic side of its aesthetic. The release of the album Genesis in 2016 set out an initial version of this sonic identity, between direct brutality and sophisticated rhythmic work. With The Weakest Among Us in 2020, Wormhole refined the contrasts between very dense sections and more open moments, while reinforcing the role of science‑fiction themes in the lyrics and visuals. The third album, Almost Human, released in 2023 on Unique Leader Records, continues this exploration of modern death metal—highly technical yet focused on impact—with more developed compositions. Active on specialized stages in North America and Europe, Wormhole is part of a network of bands oriented toward the newest forms of extreme death metal, between slam, technical death and touches of deathcore.
