Wolfbrigade

Formed in 1995 in Sweden, with ties to Mariestad, Wolfbrigade sits in the lineage of Scandinavian crust punk by injecting a clear D-beat heritage and elements of melodic death metal. Initially active under the name Wolfpack, the band adopted the name Wolfbrigade in 2000 to avoid confusion with a Swedish neo-Nazi gang bearing the same name. Its path from the start rests on musicians from the local punk and metal scene, notably around former members of Anti Cimex and Obscure Infinity, which explains the tight sound where hardcore speed crosses with heavier and darker guitars. After the first records A New Dawn Fades (1996), Lycanthro Punk (1997) and Allday Hell (1999), Wolfbrigade continues with Progression/Regression (2001) then In Darkness You Feel No Regrets (2003), before a split in 2004. The group resumed activity in 2006 and relaunched its discography with Prey to the World (2007), Comalive (2008), Damned (2012), Run with the Hunted (2017), The Enemy: Reality (2019), the EP Anti-Tank Dogs (2022) and Life Knife Death (2024). Around Mikael Dahl on vocals, Jocke Rydbjer and Erik Norberg on guitars, Wolfbrigade moved between DIY punk scenes and metal festivals, while maintaining a direct, abrasive and melodic writing style at once.
