Midnight

Active since 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio, Midnight is organized around Athenar, who serves as the creative core in the studio and brings the project to the stage with a full band lineup. Midnight operates at the intersection of speed metal, first-wave black metal and punk rock, delivering short songs, often at fast tempos, and a deliberately raw sound closer to punk urgency than to highly polished productions. After spending the 2000s in the realm of demos, EPs, splits and compilations, Midnight moved to the album format with Satanic Royalty in 2011, followed by No Mercy for Mayhem (2014), Sweet Death and Ecstasy (2017), Rebirth by Blasphemy (2020) and Let There Be Witchery (2022). This steady discography is matched by a regular presence on the underground metal and punk circuits, where Midnight appears at specialized festivals, on tours and in occasional collaborations with extreme and crossover acts. Beneath an intentionally dirty and aggressive aesthetic, Midnight has maintained from the start a stable musical approach focused on riff effectiveness and a direct, frontal energy.
