Warren G
Rooted in the Long Beach, California scene, Warren G, born Warren Griffin III, emerged in the early 1990s as a rapper, producer and DJ associated with the rise of G‑funk. After beginning his career in the trio 213 with Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg, Warren G gained attention through appearances on West Coast projects before releasing the 1994 album Regulate... G Funk Era, anchored by the single 'Regulate' featuring Nate Dogg. He followed with Take a Look Over Your Shoulder in 1997, I Want It All in 1999 and The Return of the Regulator in 2001, which continued his producer‑rapper work focused on slow tempos, prominent bass lines, melodic synths and narratives rooted in urban daily life. Firmly established in the hip‑hop landscape, Warren G went on to release In the Mid‑Nite Hour (2005), The G Files (2009) and the EP Regulate... G Funk Era, Pt. II (2015), while expanding collaborations and stage appearances within the West Coast movement.
