Tom Segura
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1979, Tom Segura began his stand-up career in the early 2000s. His humor relies heavily on everyday observation, with a marked taste for sarcasm, dark humor, and a very calm way of recounting the most absurd situations. With a Peruvian mother, he grew up speaking Spanish and spent part of his summers in Lima, a dual culture that sometimes appears in his sketches. After his beginnings in American comedy clubs, he has performed at several major festivals, including Just for Laughs in Montréal and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, while appearing regularly on television. He first recorded two stand-up albums, Thrilled in 2010 and White Girls with Cornrows in 2012, before gaining a much wider audience thanks to his Netflix specials: Completely Normal (2014), Mostly Stories (2016), Disgraceful (2018), Ball Hog (2020), Sledgehammer (2023), and Teacher (2025). Outside the stage, Tom Segura is also very active in podcasting with Your Mom’s House, launched in 2010 with Christina Pazsitzky, then 2 Bears 1 Cave with Bert Kreischer. In 2022 he published the book I’d Like to Play Alone, Please and also develops screen projects, notably the Bad Thoughts series in 2025, which he writes, directs, produces, and in which he plays one of the lead roles.
