Tigress
Born in Chelmsford, Essex, Tigress took its current shape in 2015 after an initial period under the name The Hype Theory, during which the band worked in a more pop-punk and pop-rock register. Under the name Tigress, the English lineup led by singer Katy Jackson, alongside Tom Harrison, Sean Bishop and Jack Divey, tightened its identity around melodic, direct and tense alternative rock, where pop choruses meet edgier guitars. Tigress first released the EPs Human (2015), Like It Is (2017) and Who Cares (2018), before a debut album, Pura Vida, in 2021, followed by Are You B-O-R-E-D? in 2025. Over the years Tigress has carved a place on the British rock circuit with tours, headline dates and support slots for bands such as Counterfeit, Billy Talent, Feeder, Evanescence and Spiritbox, and appearances at festivals like Download, The Great Escape, Reading and Leeds, 2000trees and Rock for People. The trajectory shows a band comfortable on festival stages as well as mid-sized venues, with songwriting that has remained accessible but grown more assured over successive releases.
