The Thrillseekers

Born in York, England, Steve Helstrip developed The Thrillseekers at the end of the 1990s in a melodic trance register that blends euphoric progressions, highly readable synth lines, and a strong sense of harmonic writing. The project emerged with ‘Synaesthesia’ in 1999, a track that quickly became a touchstone of British trance, before being followed by ‘Dreaming Of You’ in 2002. Alongside his productions under The Thrillseekers, Helstrip also produced numerous remixes for artists tied to the trance and progressive scenes, such as Chicane, Ferry Corsten, Jan Johnston, and Armin van Buuren, and developed several aliases, notably En-Motion and Hydra, as well as joint projects like Insigma with Andy Perring and Rapid Eye with Tim Stark. In 2003, Steve Helstrip founded the label Adjusted Music, the platform from which The Thrillseekers released much of his output, including ‘NewLife’ in 2004, ‘By Your Side’ in 2006, ‘Waiting Here For You’ in 2007, ‘City Of Angels’ in 2008, and ‘Song for Sendai’ in 2011. His career has spanned both the club and festival trance circuits and regular studio work, extended by the Nightmusic compilations Nightmusic Volume 1 in 2005, Nightmusic Volume 2 in 2007, Nightmusic Volume 3 in 2008, and then the Escape album in 2016.
