The Palmer Squares

Based in Chicago, The Palmer Squares bring together Acumental and Term K, two childhood friends from Wheeling in the city’s northwest suburbs. The duo adopted the name in 2010 after initially recording under other monikers, and developed an independent hip-hop approach centered on writing, verse trading and the energy of cyphers. The Palmer Squares first gained attention online with long one-take rap videos and collaborations within the American alternative hip-hop scene, before shaping their path around their Spooky Language universe. Their discography includes the EPs Spooky Language and Square Tactics, both released in 2012, and the albums Finna (2013), Planet of The Shapes (2016) and With or Without It (2020). In between they also released the EP NaPalm in 2017 and took part in several collective or joint projects, notably with ProbCause on Junkyard Samurai (2018). Their trajectory remains tied to DIY circuits, North American tours and an independent rap scene where The Palmer Squares cross paths with both beatmakers and MCs from Chicago and other U.S. cities.
