Thaiboy Digital

Born in Khon Kaen, Thailand, and raised in Stockholm from childhood, Thaiboy Digital developed at the intersection of melodic rap, cloud rap and a cold, airy electronic aesthetic typical of parts of the Swedish scene in the 2010s. He emerged early in the decade as part of Gravity Boys Shield Gang, later Drain Gang, alongside Bladee and Ecco2K, in a creative circle linked to producers like Whitearmor and the Sad Boys network. His rapping and singing, often processed through Auto-Tune, rely on simple vocal lines, very direct hooks and a balance between diffuse melancholy, club energy and synthetic sheen. The 2014 mixtape Tiger established the foundations of this aesthetic. His 2015 deportation from Sweden to Thailand altered his trajectory without halting his activity: Thaiboy Digital continued to record and collaborate remotely with the collective. This back-and-forth between Stockholm and Thailand recurs on Legendary Member (2019) and Back 2 Life (2022), where he extends an emotional, mobile form of rap fed as much by internet culture as by a more festive, immediate approach to the track.
