Tankus

Based in London, Tankus the Henge has been developing since the late 2000s a world where psychedelic rock, rhythm and blues, touches of funk and cabaret-like atmospheres intersect. The band, sometimes simply called Tankus, is built around singer-pianist Jaz Delorean, with an expanded lineup that emphasizes brass and collective arrangements. After several years on the London scene and touring venues and festivals across the UK and later Europe, Tankus the Henge released a self-titled debut album in 2013, followed by Luna Park! in 2017 and Cold Night For Heroes in 2020, which captured in the studio a repertoire first shaped on stage. Tankus's songs rely on a prominent piano, melodic brass lines and a taste for tempo changes, with tracks that range from slow ballads and soul-influenced pieces to faster passages bordering on ska or alternative rock. Through touring, Tankus the Henge has consolidated a sonic identity focused on collective energy and a narrative register in which lyrics play a significant role in the group's aesthetic.
