TAEMIN
Born in Seoul in 1993, Taemin rose to prominence in 2008 as a member of SHINee before developing in parallel a solo career that has taken an increasing place in South Korean and Japanese pop. His repertoire frames K-pop, dance-pop, contemporary R&B, synthpop, and electronic pop, with work very centered on movement, textural contrasts and an interpretation often more restrained than demonstrative. Taemin launched his solo career with the EP Ace in 2014, then quickly refined his identity on Press It in 2016, the Japanese mini-album Sayonara Hitori the same year, Move in 2017, Want in 2019, Never Gonna Dance Again in 2020, Advice in 2021, Guilty in 2023 and Eternal in 2024. His path is built between group activities with SHINee, cross-projects like SuperM from 2019, Korean and Japanese releases, and tours in Asia and then internationally. Taemin has also collaborated with several artists in his circle, notably BoA, Kai or Jonghyun, while occasionally appearing on screen. In his songs as in his performances, Taemin develops a choreographed pop with flexible lines, clear rhythms and often dark or sensual atmospheres, where gestural precision occupies as much space as melody.
