Born in the mid‑2000s on the Nantes scene, Beat Torrent brings together French DJs and turntablists Atom and Pfel, who were first noticed as part of the C2C collective emerging from hip‑hop and multiple times awarded at DMC championships. The Beat Torrent project leans toward a blend of electro, hip‑hop, rock and bass music, built around sets conceived specifically for live performance, where scratching and sampling serve a mash‑up‑like approach to arrangement. The duo has progressively developed a multi‑turntable live format, paying close attention to rhythmic editing and quick transitions, which places them both in clubs and on the main stages of festivals across France and Europe. They follow tours and dates based mainly on remixes and reworked versions of existing tracks, while gradually adding original compositions to their repertoire.
