Stig Rossen
Born in Copenhagen in 1962, Stig Rossen focused early on singing and musical theatre before settling in London in the late 1980s, where he drew attention in the West End production of Les Misérables—first in the ensemble and later in the role of Jean Valjean. Back in Denmark, Rossen alternated a solo career with stage engagements, performing a repertoire that ranges from musical theatre to melodic pop, as well as standards, ballads and a substantial selection of Christmas songs sung in Danish and English. His voice is also associated with dubbing work, notably when he provided the singing voice for the Danish version of Disney’s The Lion King, which firmly established him in the national cultural landscape. On stage he appears with large orchestras as well as smaller ensembles, in concert halls, theatres and on themed tours, notably his series of Christmas concerts begun in the 1990s. He also regularly participates in television programmes and collective projects related to musical theatre and Danish popular song.
