The Band Perry
Centered around Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, The Band Perry developed between Mississippi, where the siblings come from, and Tennessee, where the project joined Nashville’s country scene in the late 2000s. From the start the trio mixed contemporary country, family vocal harmonies, folk and touches of Southern rock, with songwriting focused on melodic choruses and a prominent role for acoustic instruments. After several years of touring, The Band Perry signed with Republic Nashville and released The Band Perry in 2010 and Pioneer in 2013, two albums that expanded their sound toward a broader country-pop while keeping bluegrass and Americana roots intact. Propelled by Kimberly Perry’s voice and the complementary playing of Reid and Neil, the band later shifted its aesthetic in the mid-2010s toward more produced pop and electronic textures, while maintaining harmony work at the heart of its identity. Between mainstream country circuits, festivals and US tours, The Band Perry followed a path marked by several stylistic turns within a stable family core.
